Tsukiji fish market

‘Tsukiji Fish Market' is a documentary project exploring the largest market in Japan, whose products are distributed across the country on a large scale. Motivated by the photographer’s interest in culture, conservation and the role of photography, It explores issues about sustainability, consumerism and culture. With Tsukiji fish market handling over 2000 tons of marine life or ‘products’ daily, Photography is mainly not permitted on many stalls. The photographer’s interest in conservation driven her to travel to Tokyo to discover one of Japan’s controversial places that have been publicised in articles such as the Guardian, Green peace and National Geographic.
